bad potato
One of T’s favorite lunch options is the baked potato cart around the corner. Cheap, dependable, yummy (according to her; i’ve yet to try), until the other day, when Mr. Baked Potato gave T a dollar discount, not, as it turned out, because she was a regular, but because the potato was BAD, completely inedible, grody. Poor T. She was troubled, disturbed, miffed, and, a tad hurt. But...
dumb pizza
Last night, before a much-loved co-worker’s untimely wake, T and I stopped for a bite at Sarafina’s on 79th & Madison. We split a salad and pizza. The pizza was billed as “Quattro Stagione” or some such, and the ingredients listed were olives, mushrooms, artichoke and prosciutto. We asked them to hold the prosciutto.
